My Crop Growing Journey: The Queen Hemp

This is a journey, from sprouting seed to full grown Cannabis Indica plant (hopefully). My attempt is to grow the plant under LED lights in my busy garage with limited heating ( I am in San Diego, CA). I am not expecting a large harvest or high THC content, the sole purpose is to enjoy the progress and document the growth to the best of my abilities.

Here is how it begins, a delicate sprout emerging from a starter soil plug. Nice thing about weed is that a good quality seed takes only a few days to sprout, bad thing is that in my experience most of modern "pure breed" cannabis varieties are pretty delicate and if the conditions are not ideal it is not unusual to observe a ~50% germination rate. OK, enough with the boring stuff.

General recommendation is to soak the seed for 24hrs in clean water to help the sprouting process before either placing the seed between wet paper or directly in soil. I had success with both options but in this case I added the seed in a starter plug. I initially had two seeds but one of them just didn't sprout (RIP). It always pisses me off when a precious seed doesn't even show a sign of sprouting but battling with mother nature is a lost cause, so here I am left with only one child.
